What does a class typically look like?

Our pricing structure varies and we offer multiple options to meet your individual needs.
A typical class will start with any announcements, followed by a warm up. Warm ups can vary from simple drilling to active positional games that revolve around what the coach is covering that class. After warmups, some more specific instructions is usually given and drilled for a short time to allow students to learn new movements and concepts. The coach will then lead the class into positional sparring/task games to allow students to work the positions with live resistance. Class then closes out with a minimum of 30 minutes of free sparring rounds. Newcomers are never forced to do free sparring rounds if they are not comfortable with it yet. Do I have to compete?

No, no one is forced to compete. Competition is encouraged as it pressure tests your Jiu Jitsu even beyond what you get in training and can lead to faster advancement in skill development. However, it is not for everyone and we understand people have other responsibilities and priorities. If you are interested in competing, please talk to a coach. They will get you squared away with the process of competing and what we expect from you in terms of preparation.
Do you offer jiu jitsu for beginners in Fredericksburg?

Yes! We have an entire beginner course just for those who are new to Jiu Jitsu. You can check out the Beginner Course by checking out our programs page. The beginner course is covers some of the most basic concepts and positions giving you a 30 day foundation to build off of in the all level classes. It is ran twice a week in a small class structure. Do you offer jiu jitsu for kids in Fredericksburg?

Yes! Our kids class is the best and is growing daily! We have multiple Kids classes (grouped by age) Monday-Friday, both Gi and No-Gi. Be sure to check out our Programs and Schedule pages! Contact us for more information!
